Young vandals caught destroying Devon farm

Offenders can't be named

Police in Crownhill have tracked down offenders linked to anti-social behavior at Poole Farm near Leigham.

The site is funded by Plymouth City Council which supports the community's well-being and offers educational opportunities for children in a natural setting and has experienced incidents including vandalism, graffiti, tools being misplaced, and littering.

Further serious incidents that have been reported to the police include drug paraphernalia being discarded at the farm, and an alleged arson to a tent.

Anti-social behavior is financially impacting the organisation through the need for costly repairs and replacements of damaged fencing panels.

This has reduced time spent with the community and affected wildlife, notably the sensitive beaver population, jeopardizing a conservation project.

PC Sarah Hill said "Due to the age of the offenders, they will each be taking part in a restorative justice programme with Poole Farm, to enable them to take accountability for their actions and understand the upset and distress their behaviour has caused to both the organisation and the local community.”

We will continue to support Poole Farm by sharing crime prevention advice to prevent further anti-social behaviour from taking place and carrying out regular patrols of the area. We take reports of this nature very seriously and encourage members of the community to continue reporting any instances of anti-social behaviour to us so we can bring offenders to justice.

If you have concerns about anti-social behavior, report to 101 or 999 for emergencies.
