TUC highlights low wages in Devon

Nearly a quarter of people in mid Devon earn less than the 'living wage' of seven pounds 65 an hour, according to figures released by the South West TUC today. In east Devon the figure's 22 per cent, and in Exeter just under 15 per cent.

The TUC says many people are experiencing the biggest pressure on their living standards since Victorian times and the living wage would tackle the growing problem of 'in-work' poverty
