Major roadworks begin today to widen one of Exeter's busiest drive-to-work routes - meaning delays and bottlenecks for more than a year.
Bridge Road will be reduced to just one lane in each direction during the 13.4 million pound engineering project - which will eventually see a four-lane road and a separate path for cyclists and walkers.
The disruption there is expected to slow down traffic on Topsham Road and Marsh Barton.
