Three jailed for vicious attack on former friend

Victim is learning to walk again

Three Exeter men have been jailed for more than 30 years for a vicious attack on a former friend.

Euan Baker was 18 when he was beaten with a baseball bat and a hammer at his home in Exeter 3 years ago (March 2021)– his injuries were extensive, including 25 fractures, multiple brain bleeds and many other injuires.

He underwent life-saving surgeries and rehabilitation to recover from the traumatic brain injury.

His attackers had a history of conflict and previously robbed and assaulted him.

The three individuals were acquitted of attempted murder by a jury at Exeter Crown Court but convicted of Section 18 assault with intent.

They also pleaded guilty to robbing Mr Baker of his phone and bicycle prior to the assault.

Lawson also admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply in February 2022 while Badran was found guilty of witness intimidation.

Manvell was further convicted for assaulting an emergency worker on his arrest.

All four of them knew each other and believed to of fallen out, potentially over a money feud.

Lawson was sentenced to 13 years and six months, Badran to 9 years and two months, and Manvell to 8 years for their crimes.
