Three controversial planning applications decided for Exeter

Exeter City planners met last night to consider three controversial planning applications for the area.

Councillors voted in favour of more student flats for the city.

Accommodation for 558 students will be built on the site of the Stagecoach offices in the city centre after the bus company moved to Matford.

The height of the accommodation building was lowered in response to objections.

An office block that is proposed for the Topsham gap near the new Aldi has been deferred and so were plans for 100 homes on a playing field near Countess Wear.
