Teenage motocross champions bereft by bike theft

Motorbikes are worth £48,000

Four motorbikes worth nearly £50,000 stolen from Newton Abbot belong to two teenage motocross champions.

The bikes were taken from a domestic garage on Seymour Road at around 12.25am on Tuesday 28 November.

Three of the bikes are green and pink Sur-Ron motorbikes and one is a red motorbike of the same make. 

The bikes were removed from the premises on a trailer which was being towed by a dark coloured hatchback.

Owners Beanie Reece, 17, and Isaac Ash, 16, are due to race them at a major event in January.

Miss Reece, who is a British motocross youth champion, told the BBC racing is her "whole life." 

"We are begging to get these bikes back," she said. "I've seen how hard my dad has worked, how hard I've worked, to get these bikes to where they are.

"For somebody to take them overnight is absolutely devastating, and to feel unsafe in your own home is a horrible feeling.

"It's our lives and it feels like that's been taken away from us."
