Exeter's Student Guild has donated 1,000 litres of food to the city's foodbank.
The project was initiated by one of the students, who has been working on issues of food waste and poverty in Exeter.
Students have been encouraged to donate unwanted food as they leave Exeter for the summer.
The food items will help to support individuals and families in crisis in Exeter.
