
The roof of the building is reported to be well alight
Six fire engines were called to a property in Dittisham, near Dartmouth this afternoon following a large fire in the roof.
In the latest update from Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, they said: "The property was reported to be under construction. Crews immediately requested back up, with a further three appliances sent, along with the incident command unit and the welfare unit.
"Crews got to work with 1 main jet, 2 hose reels, 2 fog spikes, 135 ladder and 2 breathing apparatus, attacking the roof fire. Crews then requested a further 2 fire appliances to assist with the incident.
"This is a detached 2 storey building with a roof on fire, and also involving PV solar panels. Crews now have 6 firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackling the blaze, with hose reel jets, 2 ladders, and safety at heights equipment."
