Repeat offender jailed again

David Taylor, 62, of Higher Fraddon in Cornwall

7 more years for David Taylor

A Cornish man has been jailed for seven years for sexually assaulting two teenagers.

David Taylor, 62 and from Higher Fraddon, was convicted of 10 indecent assaults for offences dating back to the 1980s, following a third trail.

Taylor has a history of similar offenses against other victims, and media coverage of his previous trials in 2021 and August 2023 prompted new victims to come forward.

He served 21 months in prison after his 2023 trial, where he was found guilty of sexual offenses against three other women.

Victim impact statements described the devastating and long-lasting effects of Taylor’s abuse.

Truro Crown court also heard that Mr Taylor, a former cricket coach in the Truro area, abused his position of trust to exploit female players.

Detective Constable Hannah Milburn praised the victims who came forward, saying “ I hope this  result will offer them some comfort and closure as they look to move forward with their lives.”
