Britain’s youngest newsreader Josh Tate is to be one of the key presenters reporting from Whitehall on Armistice Day for a live YouTube broadcast by a leading charity.

The Western Front Association, which aims to perpetuate the memory and comradeship of people on all sides who served in France and Flanders and in their own countries during the Great War,has invited the Radio Exe news presenter to co-host its coverage at the Cenotaph for the second successive year.

Last November, Tate, then just 17, interviewed people at the remembrance service alongside ITN presenter Sharon Thomas in a programme that has been watched by nealy 100,000 viewers.

He will be back broadcasting from the Armistice Day service on Monday 11 November at 11am.

He says: “It’s so important that people of my generation understand and reflect on the sacrifices that people, including many in their teens and early twenties, made in that war, and in conflicts since. I’ll be wearing my poppy with pride, and I hope that by participating in this broadcast, I can engage with the younger audience.”

David Tattersfield from the Western Front Association said: “Josh is a talented young broadcaster whonot only takes time to understand the issues he’s covering, but reports with appropriate gravitas at these important national events.”

Here is the link to the live broadcast, which gets underway at 10:15am on Monday 11 November:
