The biggest names in darts will make their annual return to Exeter this Thursday (1st March) in the Unibet Premier League.
Westpoint Exeter will stage the event for a tenth time this year, having first hosted the Premier League in 2009 as it became one of the tournament's regular stopping-points - despite the expansion into Europe.
Round up of the action so far:
Micheal Smith, 27, moved clear at the top of the Unibet Premier League table after beating Simon Whitlock 7-3 on a record-breaking night at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin last week. In front of 12,000 fans, it was Smith who would go on to extend his unbeaten start to the 2018 tournament with a fourth successive two-pointer.
Michael van Gerwen, world number 1, backed up his impressive victory over Gary Anderson in Newcastle by defeating Daryl Gurney 7-2 to move onto six points and claim second place in the table.
"I think I played okay and I did the right things at the right moments to get the two points," said Van Gerwen. "I didn't make a lot of mistakes and my confidence is good at the moment.
"This was amazing tonight and darts is getting bigger and better all over the world. I love what I do and that's very important, and this was a special night.”
Meanwhile, World Champion Rob Cross secured back-to-back wins in the Unibet Premier League as he defeated Raymond van Barneveld 7-3 to continue his revival. Cross, who had stared the Premier League with two defeats, picked up his first points last week in Newcastle when he defeated Peter Wright and doubled his tally in Berlin against the five-time World Champion.
