Police want to speak to man following arson attack

Six minibuses were destroyed

Devon and Cornwall Police have released images of a man they wish to identify in connection to an arson in Dawlish. Six minibuses which offers rides to vulnerable people were destroyed. It's likely a seventh will be written off.
 
Officers were contacted by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue, who were tackling a fire involving numerous vehicles at Barton Surgery car park in Dawlish, which is believed to have been started at around 2:10am on Friday 14 July.
 
Detective Constable Kirsty Ampleford who is the lead investigative officer for this case, said: “We have today released images of a man we are wanting to identify in connection to the arson in Dawlish last Friday night, in which numerous vehicles were destroyed.
 
“We appreciate that these images aren’t incredibly clear, but we are confident that someone will recognise this person and will be able to give us a name.
 
“It is vital that we identify and speak with this man as he may hold information vital to our investigation.”
 
DC Ampleford added: “The vehicles that were destroyed belonged to the local community and this transport is essential to many in Dawlish. If you have information that could assist officers with this case and have yet to have spoken with us, please contact 101 immediately.”
