Plymouth trio jailed for violent disorder

All three start 6-year sentence

A woman and two men have been jailed for over 6 years for their involvement in the violent incident that occurred in Plymouth on Monday, August 5th.

-Kerry Gove, 34, of Maker View
-Andrew Ball, 49, of Lisson Grove
-Grant Braidwood, 40, of Elliott Road

All admitted their guilt during a Magistrates' hearing on Thursday. They were brought before Judge Linford at Plymouth Crown Court, where Gove received an 18-month sentence, while Ball and Braidwood were each sentenced to 32 months.

During the court proceedings, it was revealed that Gove had been present in the area earlier in the day and returned later in the evening to observe the situation. She exhibited hostile behaviour towards the police, using aggressive language and swearing. 

Gove even kicked at an officer's shield when instructed to step back, showing remorse in her subsequent statement by describing her actions as "disgusting and appalling."

Ball was captured in police footage pushing himself to the front of a group, verbally assaulting officers, and throwing a drink at them. 

He engaged in disorderly conduct multiple times that evening, making threats and displaying verbal aggression towards the police and others present.

Similarly, Braidwood participated in the disorder, threatening and verbally abusing police officers. He was witnessed throwing items into a crowd during the incident.
