65 year old man died.
Trains in Devon were stopped overnight after a person was hit by a train.
National Rail enquiries said on Twitter the line was closed between Exeter and Newton Abbot at around midnight. Trains returned to normal at around 0424.
British Transport Police said in a statement:
‘Officers were called to Teignmouth station at 00.43am this morning (11/07) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
‘Paramedics also attended however sadly a 65-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’
