Housebuilder wants delay

House-builders working on a major development on the outskirts of Paignton want to delay completing major roadworks.

The works are one of two conditions under which they were given the green light to build which they are now asking to change.

Persimmon Homes are constructing up to 373 homes at Inglewood, off the ring road between White Rock and Windy Corner. The latest phase of roadworks has just begun as the project moves into its next stage.

Now the developers have gone back to Torbay Council asking for permission to vary two of the conditions.

One of them said the Windy Corner and Long Road highway junction works should be finished before the first home at Inglewood was occupied, but they now want to make that the 150th home occupied instead.

They also want to make a minor amendment to a condition over a bus stop on the site.
