MPs to debate fate of Commando

MPs are to debate the case of a heavy weapons instructor from Lympstone Commando who's in prison for murdering an injured Afghan fighter.

Sergeant Alexander Blackman shot the man in the chest in 2011, whilst serving with Devon based Four-Two Commando.

Now more 100,000 people have signed an e-petition calling for Sergeant Blackman's conviction to be quashed - because he 'defended his country' from terrorist action.

Three hours has been set aside in the Commons for the debate, which will take place in the new year.
