More flood misery across east Devon

Last night's storms led to widespread flooding across Exeter, mid and east Devon

Several households in Kennford had to leave their homes last night, and homes and other properties were also flooded in Exmouth, Topsham, Feniton and Tiverton.

In Exmouth some of the worst affected areas were New Street and Imperial Road, along with Ferry Road in Tophsam; and Lime Tree Mead and Atherton Way in Tiverton.

Several roads were closed overnight and many remain impassible even though the flood water is now receding.

In Exeter the A377 west of Cowley Bridge is closed... and the A376 to Exmouth, between the B3179 and the B3178.

Flooding has also caused the closure of the A396 Exeter Road at Bickleigh, and the A3072 in Copplestone at the A377 junction.

A landslide in Dawlish is affecting train services in that area.

A flood warning is in place for the river Exe in Exeter including the quay area where it's already overflowing on to the quayside..... warnings are also in effect for the Exe from Tiverton to Exeter, and for the Culm from Cullompton to Stoke Canon.
