Man seriously injured in Plymouth acid attack

Two suspects allegedly forced their way into a property in Lipson

A man from Plymouth has been seriously injured in an acid attack in the city. 

Emergency services were called to a property on Lipson Road at around 3.55am on Friday 21 February following reports of a disturbance.

Two suspects allegedly forced their way into a property and assaulted the occupant.

The victim reportedly suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital for treatment. It has been confirmed that acid was used during the attack to inflict the injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses and information following this serious assault in Plymouth.

DCI Lee Nattrass said: “We are treating this as a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the community.

“Residents may have seen an increased police presence in Lipson Road as we have continued to investigate the incident. Our enquiries remain ongoing.”
