A man has died after being hit by a train on the line between Exeter and Tiverton.
It happened earlier this afternoon near Cullompton.
British Transport police, ambulance workers and Network Rail staff attended - the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Officers are working to identify the man and inform his family, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
