Police remind owners it is illegal to ride them
Exeter Magistrates have convicted a man for using an e-scooter on the public highway. He'll have to pay £226 in fines - and six points have been added on his licence.
E-scooters are legally available to purchase, but it’s currently against the law to ride a privately owned one in a public place.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Heed the warnings; keep them off roads, pavements and cycle paths. The law is clear: if your scooter isn't part of a trial scheme, it's illegal."
