Listening to Radio Exe up 70 per cent

New audience figures revealed

New figures show that listening to Radio Exe has shot up by 70 per cent over the past year - and 25 per cent in the last three months alone.

Industry body Rajar reveals that listening to the station is at its highest level since it recommenced its survey after the pandemic.

It says that 74,000 adults tune to Radio Exe every quarter.

Rajar only measures Radio Exe in the Exeter, Mid and East Devon, Torbay and Teignbridge areas. The figures don't include listening in Plymouth, South Hams, West and North Devon or in East Cornwall, where Radio Exe is available on DAB digital radio.

Over the past year, the official figures show the number of people tuning into to Matt Rogers' breakfast show and Neil Walker in the middle part of the day is up by half, and the audience to Ashley Jeary's drive time show now a third bigger.

Radio Exe's managing director Paul Nero says: "We're continuing to listen to our audience and produce engaging shows, and they're rewarding us by tuning in more.

"We have exciting plans for the future too. People can now hear us on a high-quality transmitter network in Exeter, to complement our FM and wider Devon DAB service. And we'll be expanding our content in Plymouth and Torbay too in the months ahead.

"We couldn't do this without our loyal listeners and supportive advertisers. So thank you!"
