A new seven mile walk to raise funds

Local charity Hospiscare has announced a new summer-themed fundraising event for 2023.

‘The Hospiscare Summer Walk’ takes place on Saturday 8 July and invites participants to enjoy a seven-mile circular route along the Exe Estuary, starting and ending at Darts Farm near Topsham.

This event offers beautiful views, entertainment and photo opportunities aplenty along the way.

Eventgoers are encouraged to don their coolest sun hats and shades before heading to Darts Farm where they will be greeted with an award-winning artisan ice cream. Then on the route, walkers will enjoy a well-earned strawberries and cream picnic and a summery glass of Pimms.

The family-friendly event is suitable for a wide range of ages and abilities and four-legged family members are welcome to join the fun too.

Tori Vince, Events Manager at Hospiscare says: "We’re very excited to announce our new Summer Walk. Fundraising events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support and generosity we receive from the local community and the response so far has been fab. We’re hopeful the event will raise £45,000 to fund the hospice’s care for local people and their families affected by terminal illness.”

All money raised by walkers through sponsorship will help fund the hospice’s specialist end-of-life care in the local community.
