Man threatened at knifepoint three miles off Slapton Sands
Kingsbridge police are appealing for people not to buy fish from unrepeatable sources after a fisherman was attacked in the early hours of Sunday three miles off the south Devon coast.
It's thought two people in a white inflatable dinghy approached the fishing boat, cut its nets and stole the fish.
There are calls on social media for the robbers to be charged with piracy on the high seas. Response to the police's Facebook post suggest two suspects later reached Bigbury, taking cool boxes from a dinghy.
The fishing community is said to be tight-knit, and there's no suggestion at this time that the victim knew the offenders. One correspondent says: "If they're caught, I hope they can swim"
