First Great Western apologies for crass announcement

Announcer tells passengers train victim couldn't be bothered to live

First Great Western has apologised after a train announcer told passengers their journey into Exeter was delayed because someone 'couldn't be bothered to live anymore'.

Services to Plymouth were disrupted on Friday after a man was killed between London and Reading.

Travellers were told this meant some of them could miss their flights for the bank holiday.

First Great Western says announcements about fatalities should be handled sensitively and that the incident is under investigation.
