Fears about cuts in funding for police

The deputy chief constable of Devon and Cornwall police has expressed concern about the cuts in Government funding - expected to be announced in tomorrow's Autumn Statement.

It comes after senior officers from other forces warned the Home Secretary the response to a terrorism attack like the one in Paris could be weakened, if police resources continue to be reduced.

Bill Skelly says as money becomes increasingly tight, the force are having to put public safety first.
