Exeter 'upskirter' sought

Suspect targeted young teenage girls

A suspected 'upskirter' is being sought in Exeter.

The man was seen acting suspiciously in the city's Primark store in the Guildhall Shopping Centre.

He had been following two young teenage girls and appeared to be filming on his mobile phone and directing the camera under their skirts.

It has been more than two weeks since the incident on Saturday 21 May, but police have just released details.

They would like to speak to the man pictured who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

'Upskirting' became a crime in 2019 and is punishable with up to two years in prison and the possibility of being placed on the sex offenders' register.

It covers incidents in which someone tried to look under clothing to obtain sexual gratification, or to cause humiliation, distress or alarm. It comes under the Voyeurism Act.

Anyone who recognises this man or has any information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101@dc.police.uk or by telephone on 101, quoting crime reference CR/043663/22.
