Exeter MP critises tenant eviction

The MP for Exeter has criticised the circumstances in which more than 40 tenants were suddenly evicted from their homes in the city this week.

The building in Bartholemew Street had been repossessed.

The receivers Alder King say the occupants had been served with a court order giving them a month to leave, back in May - and didn't comply with it.

Ben Bradshaw says private housing tenants need better legal protection against losing their homes.

He says his party would tackle the housing shortage which forces so many people into rented accommodation.
