Eight fire engines have been on the scene at a four-storey building in Paignton this morning [Saturday 15 February] following a large blaze.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called to Victoria Street in the town at around 5am to reports of a fire.

Six firefighters were in Breathing Apparatus using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, and an Aerial Ladder Platform was also dealing with the fire in the third floor flat.

Police and Ambulance crews were on the scene, no one was reportedly injured and everyone was accounted for.

Investigations are currently underway into the fire in the flat.
