When will your bins be emptied this Easter?

The Easter bank holiday is here! You may be eating more at home. The rubbish is piling up. So when do your bins need to go out - especially as recycling centres are shut? And what do with all that chocolate packaging? 

You're asked to flatten cardboard Easter egg boxes and put them into brown bags (why brown is a mystery). Scrunch up foil before putting it in recycling boxes. Any plastic boxes (except black plastic) can also be recycled.

Here's everything you need to know, local authority by district council (same thing!). 

EXETER

Collections planned for Friday, April 10 will take place on Saturday, April 11

Collections planned for Monday, April 13, will take place on Saturday, April 18

All other collections will take place on the usual days.

TORRIDGE

All refuse and recycling collections normally due on Friday, April 10 will be collected one day later on Saturday, April 11.

Collections for the week commencing Monday, April 13, will also be one day later than usual for the whole week.

The normal collection timetable will resume week commencing Monday, April 20.

 NORTH DEVON

All refuse and recycling collections normally due on Friday, April 10 will be collected one day later on Saturday, April 11.

Collections for the week commencing Monday, April 13, will also be one day later than usual for the whole week.

The normal collection timetable will resume week commencing Monday, April 20.

TEIGNBRIDGE

All refuse and recycling collections normally due on Friday, April 10 will be collected on Tuesday, April 14.

Collections scheduled for Monday, April 13 to Thursday April 16 will take place two days later than scheduled.

If your bins or recycling are usually emptied on Friday, April 17, they will instead be emptied on Monday April 20.

All collections the following week – Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24 – will be a day later than scheduled.

From Monday, April 27, collections will return to normal.

EAST DEVON

All refuse and recycling collections normally due on Friday, April 10 will be collected one day later on Saturday, April 11.
