Police issue warning, with roads quieter
Police have warned drug dealers looking to take advantage of the coronavirus lockdown that they will ‘stick out like a sore thumb’ on the county’s quieter roads.
Officers from the Alliance Roads Policing team tweeted that, although roads were quieter, most people were carrying out just essential journeys.
They added: “If you’re hoping to take advantage of quiet roads for the drugs trade.. Don’t!”
A few vehicles directed to leave Devon and some fines had to be issued. Most people are on essential journeys. If you’re hoping to take advantage of quiet roads for the drugs trade.. Don’t! You’ll stick out like a sore thumb. 👌 https://t.co/JmWLSwEoA8

The warning comes as police continue to urge people to follow guidelines and not leave the house unless absolutely necessary, with the lockdown set to be extended for a further three weeks.
