Exeter police say new powers to tackle anti-social behaviour in the city centre are making it feel a safer place.
They were granted a dispersal order for a central zone in mid-June, enabling them to order trouble-makers to leave and take further action if they don't co-operate.
Since then 82 people have been moved on, many for being drunk or in a large rowdy group - with follow-up action needed on very few of them.
Police say the public response has been very positive with many people saying they now feel safer in the city centre.
