Debate over weeds springs up again in Exeter

A war of words on weeds has broken out again in Exeter.

The Green party have criticised Labour members of the county council for proposing that 250 thousand pounds from its reserves should be spent on weed control.

The motion was voted down - even though concerns have been raised about the city looking untidy for the Rugby World Cup.

But the Greens say with bus services falling victim to spending cuts, any extra spending should be channelled into public transport.
