Police were called to the Exeter-bound carriageway around 5.10 p.m. to the single-vehicle collision involving a black Vauxhall Astra. The road was closed while a forensic examination took place. Officers have thanked the public for their patience whilst we investigated the scene

In a statement, police say: "Anyone who was travelling on the A38, northbound or southbound, in the vicinity of the Buckfastleigh junction at the time and who may have dashcam footage of the vehicle is urged to come forward" and call police on 101 quoting log 704 of 18 October.
