Cyclist in critical condition following Exeter collision

19-year-old driver under investigation

A cyclist has been left with serious injuries and in a critical condition after he was involved in a collision with a car in Exeter.

It happened just before 6:20pm on Thursday 4 August at the junction with Okehampton Road and Exwick Road.

As a result, the cyclist, a white man believed to be in his 50s, was flown to Derriford Hospital. The 19-year-old driver of the silver Vauxhall Corsa involved was uninjured and arrested at the scene. He was taken to Exeter Police Station and has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage is asked to contact police by calling 101 with log number 727 of 4 August 2022.
