Covid infection rates on the rise

Infection rates treble in two Devon areas

Covid cases are up across the county except for Torridge.

Figures in the week leading up to and including 27 June show that Exeter now has an infection rate of 240 cases per 100,000 people - that's up from 121 the week before.

Both Torbay and East Devon's rates have trebled; Torbay has 103 cases per 100,000 people and East Devon has 92 cases per 100,000 people.

Infection rates have doubled in other areas. There are now 66 cases per 100,000 people in Teignbridge, the South Has has 67 and West Devon has 32.

All other areas have had slight increases. North Devon's increased by 18 cases per 100,000 people to 58 and Mid Devon has 96, up from 90.

Torridge has seen a drop of 4 to 101 cases per 100,000 people.
