The leader of Devon county council is warning that Government funding cuts will force the authority to scale back some services over the next four years.
John Hart says there'll be tough choices ahead.
He's starting a series of meetings with district, town and parish councillors today, to explore the possibilities of them helping provide some local services.
He's already written to the Government to point out that the financial situation is making it impossible for the council to do its job, with funding being reduced by 60 per cent in real terms between 2011 and 2016.
