New powers to tackle anti-social behaviour in Exeter could be brought in by the council.
Councillors will discuss the introduction of a special Order this evening, which would target activities such as taking psycho-active substances, drunkenness and aggressive begging.
At the moment a lot of anti-social behaviour isn't officially classed as a crime so police can't take action - but the Public Spaces Protection Order gives council and police officers the power to penalise people for the banned activities.
