Council to press for more roads funding

Whichever party wins the General Election will face calls for more money for highway work, from Devon county council.

It's agreed to make representations over the lack of money for all but the most urgently-needed repair work.

A quarter of unclassified roads in the county need significant work but the council says it can only afford to do what's needed for safety reasons.

It's also cut back on grass cutting and weed spraying.
