Council tax may rise in April

Devon county council are considering raising the cost of council tax from April. They say that it's to cover the increased costs of adult social care

The county council want to raise the cost of council tax by 2 per cent.

They say it would raise nearly six and a half million pounds towards adult social care.

With many carers of vulnerable and elderly people on the minimum wage, Devon county council will have to foot the bill when the national living wage is introduced in April.

A final decision will be made by councillors when they meet next month.
