Ways of tackling the isolation suffered by older people in rural Devon will be discussed at a conference in Crediton today.
The event brings together parish and community leaders, with representatives of groups who can offer services such as befriending schemes, transport services and help with social networking and IT.
It's been jointly organised by Devon Senior Voice, Age UK, local authorities and other groups.
