Stagecoach to continuing Exeter plus boundary extension trial
Stagecoach South West has announced it is continuing the trial of the Exeter plus boundary extension until the end of August.
Extending the Exeter plus boundary, beyond the city, offers a reduction to the cost of bus journeys for passengers travelling to/from Newton Poppleford, Sidmouth and Sidford.
A trial of the extension started on Sunday 14 July and was due to finish on Sunday 11 August, however, in order to give members of the public more opportunity to use the service, the trial has been extended for an additional three weeks, until Saturday 31 August.
Stagecoach South West Managing Director Bob Dennison said: “We are always looking for ways to improve the services and value we offer our customers. Extending the Exeter plus boundary until the end of August reduces the cost of travel for customers, living in the areas of Newton Poppleford, Sidmouth and Sidford, and offers them the opportunity to get out and about for less during the summer.”
Passengers on the following bus routes will benefit from the extended trial:
● Number 9 boarding at Sidford to Exeter
● Number 157 and 357 boarding at Woodbury to Exeter
● Number 58 bus boarding at Sidford
The extension offers customers reduced fares, enabling them to save £2.10 on a daily Explorer ticket and £8.00 on a weekly Explorer ticket.
Passengers will be able to travel to and from Exeter for the day for just £6.20. Weekly travel is £22 and groups of up to 5 people will be able to travel for £12.40 (saving £4.20).
