Local house builder raise £670 for charity

Age Concern Barnstaple & District were "delighted" to receive the three figure cheque

Age Concern Barnstaple & District has been given a helping hand from local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes.

The charitable organisation was presented with a cheque for £670 by David Wilson Homes Sales Director Nicki Reid at the five-star housebuilder’s Tarka Ridge development in Barnstaple.

Age Concern director Andrea Scott said: “We are delighted to have received the cheque which came as a complete surprise. The money will be put towards the Home Support Project which helps older people continue to be involved in the local community.”

Age Concern works to raise awareness of older people’s issues with the aim to improve the quality of life for older people and their carers. The charity works closely with the local community by providing services on a social and practical level to enable older people to remain independent in their own homes for as long as it is safe for them to do so.

Andrea added: “We work to promote positive attitudes towards aging and are extremely grateful for the recognition from David Wilson Homes and its support of our services. We cannot thank them enough and look forward to building our relationship in the future.”
