Progress made in City manager appointment

"Now a number of legal processes to follow"

Exeter City have made progress in the recruitment of a new manager.

It follows the departure of Matt Taylor at the beginning of October. Since then, the Grecian's have been managed by under-18's coach Kevin Nicholson.

In a statement, the club said: "Following Matt Taylor’s departure, the position was advertised externally. A number of candidates were invited for interview during the week beginning October 10. From this point, a shortlist of candidates gave presentations to the interview panel this week, the last of which took place yesterday (Thursday 21 October).

The significance of this appointment meant it was always going to be a detailed process which required a great deal of diligence and consideration.

We are grateful to our fans for their patience whilst we complete the recruitment and follow correct HR and legal procedures.

There are now a number of legal processes we need to follow ahead of making the appointment; however, we are optimistic that an announcement will be made early next week.
