"It's not about me, it's about the players," says Matt Taylor

Exeter City are back in action tomorrow afternoon. They host Carlisle United at St James Park - the first League 2 fixture of the season.

Newly appointed manager Matt Taylor is leading his revamped squad out for the very first time in league 2. However, he says the spotlight isn't on him, it's on the players.

"Everyone is looking forward to it, we want our first game to be at home and our fans to get behind us. Hopefully, we can pick up a good result. We prepped the best we possibly could, we haven't focused too much on the opposition, its all about being ourselves.

"It's another game of football, its not about me, its about the groupd of players. they will be the ones on the pitch on Saturday."

Meanwhile, Taylor admits there's still work to do during the summer transfer window.

"There will be a couple more players coming in, definitely," he added. "We've spent the last couple of days out and about scouting players. It's work in progress. Every business I do has to be right for the club, so its not something I'll rush into."
