Exeter City 'disappointed' at Ampadu payout

Earlier this week, a delegation from Exeter City travelled to London to out find out how much money they would be awarded for former player Ethan Ampadu who joined Chelsea last July.

The two teams were unable to agree a fee when the 17-year old moved to Stamford Bridge.

It's now been decided by the Professional Football Compensation Committee that  Exeter City will receive up to 2.5 million pounds.

1.3 million will be paid upfront, with the rest in installments, depending on how many times the teenager plays for the Chelsea first team.

The Grecians will also receive 20 per cent of any sell-on fee.

It's thought the PFCC will reveal the reasons for awarding that total in the next couple of weeks.
