VIDEO: Exeter Chiefs' Henry Slade targets Europe

The 25-year-old centre will be fit for new season despite injury

The Chiefs, who lost in the premiership final earlier this year, play Leicester in September on the opening day of the new season. Despite losing their opening two games of the league season last time out, they'll be full of confidence heading into the Leicester encounter. When the two teams met in January, the Devon side won comfortably in an emphatic 30-6 victory.

However, before that match, Exeter have three pre season games to get their squad in shape for the new Premiership season. One of the injured players over the summer was 25-year-old centre Henry Slade.

Returning to fitness, he told Radio Exe: "Mentally, I'm feeling really good. I had a couple of weeks in the summer to recharge. Physically, I have a sore thumb but able to train. When the season comes,  I'll be ready."
