Exeter Chiefs star "fit and ready to go" says Baxter
Exeter Chiefs and England star Jack Nowell is now "fit and ready to go," confirms Chiefs boss Rob Baxter, after six-months on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old winger sustained an injury in the Premiership final last October, which resulted in surgery on damaged toe ligaments. Although Nowell recovered, he then had another setback last month, when he pulled up in training with a hamstring problem.
However, Baxter has now declared Nowell fit for duty.
“Jack has had a couple of weeks’ full training - and he is fit and ready to go,” said Chiefs' director of rugby.
The reigning Premiership champions are back in domestic action this weekend after seeing their Champions Cup defence ended by quarter-final opponents Leinster.
They host Wasps at Sandy Park on Saturday, looking to close the 12-point gap between them and league leaders Bristol, kick-off is 12:30.
