This weekend's Premiership game at Sandy Park, in which Exeter Chiefs were to have taken on Wasps gas been called off, after the Coventry-based club's financial woes worsened.
The club has debts thought to run to tens of millions of pounds.
Last month, Worcester Warriors went bust and were eliminated from the competition.
Exeter Chiefs has yet to comment on the situation.
