Pandemic heroes sought

Devon builders' merchants community champions

A Devon builders' merchants is looking for celebrate people who've helped their communities during the pandemic.

RGB Building Supplies Surprise Supplies project wants to find someone who went out of their way to do shopping for vulnerable people, or perhaps a school that had a creative way to help engage children with home schooling, or a community group that found a way to bring everyone together.

RGB will choose from among the nomination to go through to a vote where the public will be asked to decide two winners. Each will receive £1,000 to spend at their local RGB branch.

Paul West, branch manager at RGB Exeter, commented: “Throughout the pandemic, we’ve all heard stories about amazing people who have done wonderful things in their community, such as raising money for charity, or ensuring no one is alone, and it’s these people we want to recognise with this Surprise Supplies giveaway.”

Nominations and applications can be made by emailing RGB@pmwcom.co.uk or posted to RGB Community Fund, c/o PMW, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. The closing date is Saturday 31 July.
