Open day at Exeter Freemasons hall All rooms will be open to wander around and information available if you would like to join.
Freemasonry has been around for over 300 years and in Exeter most of that time.
On Saturday 26th April we at Exeter Freemasons Hall will be having an open day to which all are invited.
We are also looking for members of the public who would like to join this amazing Fraternity.
Freemasonry these days is far more open than it used to be. The days are gone when the man of the house would hide his case under the bed and inform his wife he was “going out” To return later probably drunk. Ha!
No, things have changed a lot. For example, for just over 100 years women have their own Freemasonry meeting at Topsham, Plymouth, South Brent and Barnstaple. We except all religious faiths even though we are not a religion.
We are a fraternal organisation who try and make good men and women better.
So, in a bid to make Freemasonry more open we have decided to open Exeter Freemasons Hall to the public 11 – 4pm 26th April. You will be able to see all the rooms including the Lodge room (Temple) and Freemasons Will be on hand to talk to the public about Freemasonry dispel all the nonsense that is often said about Freemasonry.
